Launching a business with passion and purpose

Fruits or Vegatables: Sugars (Fruit) and Cancer
December 12, 2017

As a trained nutritionist, I’m always surprised by the number of people who are resigned to thinking ‘this is as good as it gets’ and needlessly suffering in ill health. I’ve seen many people wait until they’re faced with a worst-case scenario before taking steps to make positive change. After all, change is hard!

Once we’ve formed poor habits, be it smoking, drinking or excessive consumption of sugar – they can be hard to break. This is why no one should do it alone! Having a team of professionals to guide you through the process of making positive change will give you a greater chance of success than if you try to go it alone.

From the age of 10 I’ve been telling people what they should eat. I understood early on in life what made for a healthy or poor diet, though I experienced my own struggles. Growing up in a strict environment, I developed an eating addiction, and could easily down 13 pancakes in one sitting! While I was never physically overweight, I knew this wasn’t right, and had a journey of healing ahead. It wasn’t until I spent years studying the science of food, nutrition and the body, that I was able to experiment with different dietary approaches to food and find what was successful for me and my body.

It became my greatest passion to understand the depth of cell biology and how different foods would interact with different body types. There is no single diet out there that will work for everyone. We are all unique. After further studying iridology, massage and both Western and Chinese approaches to medicine, I gained a deep understanding of the signs that the body will give to indicate what is taking place under the surface. Sometimes these are as subtle as a shape or colour change, and sometimes as obvious as a gaping hole in the skin. I’ve found that roughly 80% of the time, you can accurately determine the root cause of the problem(s) from physical features alone.

I was always passionate about helping people understand their bodies and move towards a healthier way of living. After completing my studies in nutrition, iridology and massage therapies, I began offering to treat patients at my mother’s beauty clinic. When I saw the impact I was having, I knew this was how I could best contribute to changing the world. Referrals began flowing through and I launched Mercury Healing to reach more people and empower them to reclaim their health and change their lives.
